The pup cup team

The creator of the Pup Cup is Jazz Fitzgerald who is a born local of Coffs Harbour as well as a passionate and enthusiastic Dog Groomer.

She is the proud owner and operator of Jazz's Dog Grooming est. 2014 in Coffs harbour.
Jazz is a multi award winning groomer having competed at competitions since 2015.

Having participated in previous dog grooming events and attending pet expos around Australia, she had the inspiration to hold one in her beautiful home town.

With help and suggestions from other passionate groomers, the Pup Cup was born in 2017.
Jazz has a background in Information Technology and with her skills has developed an engaging website and social media following.

Jazz wanted to show the public how much skill and variety is on offer in the art of dog grooming along with giving fellow pet stylists the opportunity to network within the evolving pet industry.

With the successful growth of the Pup Cup, Jazz has appointed two trusted grooming friends roles to help make the Pup Cup a smooth running event.

The Pup Cup 2020 welcomes

Bethany Aberdour & Emily Petersen

Bethany Aberdour entered the grooming scene with her first show dog ten years ago, and has climbed in leaps and bounds ever since.

The Pup Cup has drawn Beth from the very beginning, with its welcoming, community-feel, and its fresher approach to competing. It seemed a natural progression to grow on the mentorship style the competition nurtures, and Beth was delighted to be asked onto the team to promote the Pup Cup 2020 Grooming Competition and Expo. The goals this competition represents for each stylist who competes is close to Beth's heart, with every class comes the responsibility to encourage and empower each competitor to be their best.

Bethany will be running the grooming competition ring, assisting contestants with set up locations, time keeping and presenting awards to competitors.

About Beth:

After training for three years in Norfolk, England, she moved to Australia with her husband in 2013 and jumped into the competition ring, winning her first Best in Group in her second class out.

Beth has won multiple Best in Groups in Terrier, Asian, and Salon Freestyle, and places highly regularly at competitions across the country at Master level, whilst maintaining her place in the elite DGS Team (est. 2018).

In 2018 she was made a proud member of the Australian Model Dog Team and will represent Australia in 2020 at international level in the World Team Competition.

She specialises in hand-stripping and Terrier styles, with Miniature Schnauzers being her main breed alongside Griffons.

Beth also hosts several sell-out seminars a year, including breed specific, Asian styling, hand- stripping, and her popular collaboration of Everyday Pet Styling 101.

When she’s not competing, or showing her own Griffon, she runs her brand new, cat-exclusive pet spa on the Gold Coast, and thrives being the only feline-only salon on the Coast.

Emily Petersen and Jazz first met when they trained in grooming together in 2014.

Through sharing a love of dogs, grooming and food, their friendship became unbreakable.

She is the proud owner of Muddy Tails Grooming in Port Macquarie est. 2015

Emily has travelled Australia competing in Dog Grooming, Dog agility and Dog obedience with her trusted miniature poodle, Benji.

She is a multi award winning groomer and thoroughly enjoys the social side of doggie events.

“As much as I love being a home based solo groomer, It’s nice to get out and see like minded individuals.

I love being involved in anything that creates a bond between owner, handler, groomer and dog. It’s a unique connection and one that should be nurtured.

It is an honour to be apart of the Pup Cup 2020 team which gives groomers of Australia a chance to test their skills in a beautiful, relaxed and happy environment. They have the opportunity to socialise and win some fantastic prizes.

It’s time for Jazz to share the load of this massive task of running such an amazing event and I am so excited to help make it the best it can be!”

Emily roles will be to assist exhibitors in the set up and pack down, scheduled stage presentations and business communications.
